Hi my name is Irene Russell and I have been running my own Reiki courses since 2008 and now in 2011 I will be running courses for Reiki Evolution.
I run First Degree Reiki monthly, Second Degree bi monthly and Masters quarterly. The courses are very relaxed and informal and are held in my home in Alloa, Clackmannanshire which is 20 minutes from Edinburgh, Lothians and Fife.
My courses are run to accommodate from 1 to 4 students never more to ensure quality time is given to all those attending. I like to give time for practice and it is important nothing feels rushed and the students feel safe and confident to ask questions.
Since I started teaching I have always used Reiki Evolution training material because I knew that I couldn’t improve on what Taggart had already produced and feedback from my students confirm that this was the correct decision as the quality and clarity of the teaching materials is unsurpassable in my opinion.
Once you have been on a training day with me you will be invited to join our Reiki share group which meets monthly. At the shares students get together to share their experiences, do a wee bit of meditation, receive empowerments and send distant healing. It is a fantastic opportunity to meet like minded people and continue your own personal development
My Reiki journey so far….
In 1999 I hadn’t heard of Reiki, I was too busy making money to consider anything spiritual. At the end of that year the loss of my husband saw my life spiralling out of control and I started searching for spiritual guidance.
I stumbled upon Reiki through the local spiritualist church and I started going for weekly treatments. After some time I decided I would take Reiki 1 training. I enrolled on a 2 day residential course and by the end of the 2 days I didn’t know any more about Reiki than when I arrived on day 1. This left me feeling frustrated and confused, there seemed to be an awful lot of do’s and don’ts which didn’t sit well with me. A year drifted by during which I did not work on my Reiki practice because I didn’t know what I was supposed to be doing and this had an effect on my confidence. My Reiki teacher phoned me after a year to encourage me to take Reiki 2 as she thought that this would help me get a better understanding I agreed and took the course but it made things worse.
Deep down I knew that there was something in Reiki for me so one day I googled Reiki and the Reiki Evolution website kept popping up so I thought I would contact them. As soon as I received the course materials I knew that Mikao Usui’s simple system was what I had been searching for. Self healing, spiritual development and living the Precepts was what I had been hungry to find. I felt that I had found something that would be with me for life.
I remember on my training Margaret saying we may experience a clearing out. Mine consisted of life changing decisions being made. I resigned from a very successful 20 year career and retrained in therapies. I now work from home, lead a very simple stress free life and I credit this to Reiki which gives me strength and inner peace.
